Supporting Our Community at Feeding Tampa Bay

The PGM team spent the day volunteering at Feeding Tampa Bay’s warehouse on May 29th, coming together to support an organization that plays a serious role in addressing food insecurity across our region.

From the moment we stepped into the facility, we were struck by both the scale of the operation and the dedication of the team behind it. Feeding Tampa Bay serves thousands of individuals and families each day, and their impact is made possible by the contribution of volunteers.

Feeding Tampa Bay

A Hands-On Effort

Our team spent the day packing potatoes for distribution to local families. Working together, we packed more than 1,000 pounds of potatoes, helping provide the equivalent of 12,519 meals to those facing food insecurity.

At first, a potato is just a potato. But after you’ve handled what feels like your body weight in potatoes for several hours, you start to appreciate just how much 1,000 pounds really is.

More importantly, seeing the work happen firsthand puts the impact into perspective. What starts as a few volunteers packing produce quickly becomes thousands of meals for families who need them. It’s a great reminder that small actions add up, and that every hour volunteered can make a meaningful difference.

Strengthening Connections Through Service

Volunteer days like this are also a great way to spend time together outside of our usual day-to-day work.

Instead of meetings, emails, and deadlines, we spent the day packing potatoes, sharing stories, and working side by side for a good cause. There were plenty of laughs along the way and more than a few conversations about just how many potatoes we had packed.

It was a reminder that some of the best team-building doesn’t happen in a conference room (or more aptly, on a Zoom meeting). It happens when people come together to help others and make a positive impact in the community.

Committed to Making a Difference

We’re grateful to Feeding Tampa Bay for the opportunity to contribute to their mission and to experience firsthand the incredible work they do.

At PGM, supporting the communities where we live and work is a core part of who we are. Volunteer days like this one reflect that commitment, and we look forward to continuing to find ways to make a positive impact.
