Porch Group Media recently launched “Lending Helping Hands,” our first annual company-wide community service initiative. During the month of May, employees have been participating in community service projects in their local communities in Matawan, NJ; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; and throughout the United States.
Some of the projects include:
- Sorting non-perishable goods, packing produce, building boxes, stocking shelves, and filling pallets at “Feed Tampa Bay” in Florida.
- Picking up trash from the ocean and bay beaches at Sandy Hook in NJ.
- Packing food for “Feed My Starving Children” in Westmont, IL.
On May 17, Porch Group Media’s Tampa team lended their “Helping Hands” at Feeding Tampa Bay which services over 700,000 families in the community that are food insecure – meaning they do not know where their next meal will come from.
The combined volunteer efforts from Porch Group Media and Bank of America yielded 11,216 meals. Each volunteer saves Feeding Tampa Bay $23.60/ hour in labor costs, and that adds up to over $1 million in a given year. Check out https://feedingtampabay.org/ to learn more.
The team had a great time serving the community and are already looking forward to their next event. Check out some of the fun pictures of our team below!
